Create a Price Analysis Table

A practical guide built from the real application page with accurately marked controls.

What does this page do?

This page builds an accurate unit price from real components: materials, labor, equipment, or a nested analysis table. The resulting price is later used when an item is added to a draft BOQ.

Open Price Analysis under the correct discipline

Confirm that the required discipline is open in the side navigation because the analysis will be available only to BOQs in that discipline.

  • Changing discipline changes the available resources and analyses.
  • This prevents prices from different disciplines being mixed.
Always start from the discipline whose BOQ you are preparing.

Enter the analysis description

The description is the item name you will search for later in BOQ setup. Use a direct and meaningful work description.

  • Example: Install 25 mm electrical conduit.
  • Avoid generic names such as New Item or Sample Analysis.

Review discipline, currency, and unit

The discipline controls scope, the currency controls price display, and the unit becomes the final BOQ item unit.

  • The final item unit does not have to match every component unit.
  • Prefer the project or contract currency.

Choose resource type, category, and item

Select whether the component is material, labor, equipment, or a nested analysis, then choose its category and item.

  • Only resources for the selected discipline are listed.
  • A valid item must be selected before saving.

Enter quantity, waste, profit, and price

Enter the component quantity needed for one unit of work, then waste and profit percentages. The row total is calculated automatically.

  • Waste increases expected quantity or cost.
  • Profit is added to reach the item selling price.

Review item total and add components

The Item Total row combines all components. Add another component whenever material, labor, equipment, or a nested analysis is still missing.

  • Do not save before all cost components are included.
  • Every new component contributes to the final item total.

Save the analysis table

After reviewing the description, components, and total, save the table so it becomes available in BOQ setup.

  • Draft BOQs can read updated prices.
  • Final BOQs keep the frozen approved price.

Core fields and actions

Important Notes

  • A nested analysis table can be used as a component.
  • Review price before finalizing a BOQ.
